Hon. Ann Callis was the first woman Circuit Judge in Madison County, Illinois and was the first woman Chief Judge in Madison County, where she served for 18 years. She has served in every division in the 3rd Circuit Court where she presided over hundreds of jury and non-jury trials including complex litigation, environmental, personal injury, professional negligence (legal and medical), and many varieties of criminal cases.
Hon. John “Jack” Garvey served as a Circuit Court Trial Judge for the City of St Louis where he presided over hundreds of jury trials including mass torts and complex litigation.
Hon. John Holstein is a former Missouri Supreme Court Judge, and retired Shareholder of Polsinelli, PC. Judge Holstein has successfully mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases in Missouri and around the country since leaving the bench in 2002.
Mike Murphy is a partner in the firm of Spencer Fane and is affiliated with the firm’s Cape Girardeau, Dallas and St. Louis offices. Over the course of over twenty-five years of practice devoted to complex civil litigation, Mike has handled cases in the fields of alleged product liability, toxic tort/chemical exposure, medical negligence and other serious personal injuries in various venues across the country
Hon. Margaret Neill served as a Circuit Court Judge for the 22nd Judicial Circuit of Missouri (City of St.Louis) from 1993–2016. During her tenure on the bench she presided over hundreds of civil and criminal jury trials and served as Presiding Judge for the Circuit from 2001-2002.
Hon. Gary Oxenhandler served as a Circuit Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit (Boone and Callaway Counties) until his retirement in 2016. During his tenure on the bench he served as Presiding Judge for the Circuit and was assigned by the Supreme Court as a Special Master to hear matters throughout Missouri.
Steve Sanders is one of the founding partners of Williams Venker & Sanders in St. Louis. Over the course of over 40 years of practice devoted to litigation, Steve has tried more than 60 jury trials to verdict and has also tried matters in the fields of business litigation, product liability litigation, medical malpractice and a wide variety of general personal injury cases.
Steve Snead is a shareholder with Baty Holm Numrich & Otto, P.C. and is an experienced civil litigator in the areas of personal injury, insurance, property and casualty loss, and professional liability including real estate, legal, dental, architectural, engineering and health care matters.
Hon. Michael A. Wolff is an attorney, former Missouri Supreme Court judge and chief justice, and professor and dean emeritus of Saint Louis University Law School. His current practice involves select matters related to litigation, governmental affairs, and public interest law.

Bley is a partner with Bley & Evans in Colombia, Missouri, where he has practiced law for 35 years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. In 2014, Bley was named a “Top 100” by National Trial Lawyers. Additionally, Bley is past-president of and has served on the Executive committee and Board of Governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys. He is also an active member of the Boone County Bar Association and a sustaining member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Parshall is a partner with Ford, Parshall & Baker, where he has practiced law for over 35 years. Parshall has been named a Missouri “Super Lawyer” in the area of defense litigation by Martindale-Hubbell, and has tried over 100 jury trials to verdict. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a past President and current member of the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers as well as the Boone County Bar Association.
Lisa Herder, Director of Business Development for Aequitas Alternative Dispute Resolution Services, recently presented before 20 officials from the China Ministry of Justice at the State Capitol in Springfield, IL. Hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Herder provided an overview on best practices in mediation and mediator selection. Herder’s program was one of a series of presentations on the U.S. Civil Mediation System arranged by the University’s China Executive Leadership Program (CELP). Started in 1993 this collaboration between the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (SAFEA) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) has provided executive training programs for more than 5,500 Chinese executives. The UIUC has become the major training center for SAFEA in the United States. Through the programs China and the United States have benefitted by the many friendships and mutual respect and understanding that have developed as a result of the time the executives have spent studying here.

Bresnahan is available to assist parties with mediations, arbitrations and other alternative dispute resolution needs.
Judge Bresnahan served on the 21st Judicial Circuit of Missouri for eleven years. Prior to his appointment to the bench Judge Bresnahan was an attorney in private practice and also served as City Attorney and Municipal Judge for numerous municipalities and cities in the St. Louis metropolitan area. His private practice provided extensive experience in litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants, including approximately 20 jury trials and 1,000 bench trials and contested motions, in personal injury, property damage, employments maters, securities cases, fraud, contract and business litigation matters. Along with serving on the Board of Governors for the Missouri Bar for 4 terms, Judge Bresnahan held leadership positions with the St. Louis County Bar which bestowed him with its esteemed “Dudley Dunlop Distinguished Lawyer” Award.

Morthland is the senior and managing anttorney of the firm Wasinger Parham, LLC, where he has been engaged in civil practice and litigation since 1977.
Hon. Norton is a partner with the firm Blitz, Bardgett & Deutsch where he practices primarily in the areas of mediation, arbitration, and special appointments. As a retired Circuit and Appellate Court Judge he has extensive experience in the courtroom. Hon. Zappa served as a Circuit Judge for Sangamon County for 21 years. He is experienced in the areas of administrative law, professional liability, environmental law, business litigation, real property, personal injury, contracts, and employment law. Zerman is a founding member and current counsel for the firm Zerman Mogerman, LLC. He has been listed for over 20 years in Naifeh and Smith’s, The Best Lawyers in America, for Family Law where he was also named as the “St. Louis Area Lawyer of the Year for Family Law” in 2011.
